Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Pittsburgh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

An absolute gem. Creative and innovative flavors. They put a lot of thought into their ice cream making process and make high quality ice cream. Lovely service. Moreover, it’s moving to see how Leona’s Ice Cream cares about its values and community. A beautiful experience.

Very good local ice cream place. I actually didn’t really that they were a local small business until just recently! Several great spots I know carry these ice cream sandwiches (Pittsburgh Taco Boys, Burghers in Millvale, among numerous others. I tried my first Leona’s sandwich from the Millvale restaurant). Some supermarkets carry them too, I think. I had their lemon meringue ice cream sandwich. Man, it’s really good. The sandwich part is sturdy and holds all the great ice cream together. The ice cream is fresh and flavorful, and quite sweet. I just really enjoyed it. Yes, decently pricey but high quality, so I think it’s worth it.

Overall really good ice cream. I love how we can select what we want from the cooler and grab a sandwich and check out. Service could have been a little more friendly.

What a joke! I was exited to finally see an ice cream shop in Garfield. Unfortunately these business act like they care for the community but instead they open a store in a lower income neighborhood and charge $10 for 2 scoops of ice cream. Served in a cheap container that makes it very hard to even hold. There are environmentally friendly containers made to hold ice cream. I think you can afford them if you charge $10 for an ice cream. Very sad...

Leona's is known for their ice cream sandwiches, pretty rightfully. But going into the shop, I was able to try many of the ice cream flavors, take pints home, and try the ice cream cake. I find the ice cream here just to be of the very highest quality - top ingredients made into amazing ice cream. The flavors are exceptional. Plus the owner and staff are just kind and lovely. And the ice cream cake changed my life. Serious wow. Please buy so much ice cream from this place!
